The main focus of the German Open Championships in Stuttgart is Latin American and Ballroom dancing. But for years Boogie Woogie has been an important part of this event too. This year the WRRC organised the European championships Boogie Woogie as part of GOC.
The vibe during the Boogie Woogie competitions is different. In contrast to the other competitions where the spectators are seated on tribunes around the floor, here they are seated on the dance floor itself and are loud, very loud. To catch more of that vibe I tried shooting it a little bit wider than I usually photograph dancing. To emphasise that I cropped them in a cinema like 21:9 crop. It shows more context but does get rid off the ’empty’ unnecessary space above and below the main subject.
